Teesside Advanced Manufacturing Park
Appointed by Chaloner Group on behalf of Middlesbrough Council and Tees Valley Combined Authority, TeesAMP is an 11 hectare Industrial park designed to suit Advanced Manufacturing.
Unlike most industrial parks a commitment was made for this Advanced Manufacturing Park to look and feel different. With the prospect of a river frontage the decision was taken that the masterplan should respond to its context and capitalise on its relationship offering as much connection as possible to the river aspect. Starting with an existing vehicular entrance a new boulevard was created to enter the park leading to a central roundabout and art fetaure from which visitors would be greeted by a view of the river before branching off to each unit.
Units were consciously positioned with the office element orientated to ‘face out’ into the park with the back of house areas hidden from view to give the impression of a business park as opposed to an industrial estate.
All buildings were designed to suit a regular grid across the park to ease expansion and adaptation with modular cores containing servicing, stairs, lifts & WC’s but with the option to expand into the adjacent bay with arrange of fit out options.
