4 Motion Skate Park

Appointed on a recommendation, Logic Architecture was asked to design a new cafe and viewing platform for a community-run skate park that would be affordable and basic in its design. In addition, materials could be sourced locally for the volunteers to construct it.

    The Logic...

In response to the need for the community to be able to ‘self build’ the café to minimise cost and expertise, Logic responded to the gritty, urban environment of the existing indoor skate park by proposing to use scaffolding as a method of construction to support a lightweight platform and enclosure. They were constructed from plywood and OSB paneling, fabricated on-site, under the close supervision of a scaffolding erection company.

    Corporation Road, Middlesbrough

Appointed by Chaloner Group, Logic was commissioned to design a multi-storey residential building that would maximise density built within the footprint of the former Cleveland Scientific Institute building.
